[Wrestling] Swedes Wrestling Hosts York in Dual

LINDSBORG – The Bethany College Wrestling team faced off against York College in a dual on Friday night. 

York, currently ranked #15 nationally, was able to hang on to a 35-18 victory over the host Swedes. The Swedes emerged victorious in 8 of the 12 matches that were wrestled. Kaden Goff scored a fall in his 141 bout. Nick Desch had a 3-1 decision in his match at 165. At 184 Misael Monarrez had an 11-6 decision. Also, winning for the Swedes was William Mason at 285 who scored a fall at the 1:49 mark. 

The Swedes won three exhibition matches as well. Kaden Goff scored a fall in 2:40 in his bout at 133. Misael Monarrex got a 16-1 tech fall to win at 184. In the 285 exhibition Collin Rossillon won on a fall in just twenty-three seconds. 

Head Coach Courtney Strauss added  “I’m proud of the way the guys competed tonight.  We gave up some opens due to things out of our control but it was great that York brought extra guys so we could have some exhibition matches as well.  We are thankful to be able to compete and are looking forward to the next opportunity Jan. 13th in a tri dual vs Doane and Dakota Wesleyan. ”
