The Raven Wrestling team showed signs of improvement on Monday night as they took the mat for the last time this semester against No. 15 Missouri Valley College.

The Ravens were able to two of their contested matches by decision but in the end, the Vikings won the competitive dual 39-6.

After dropping the first two matches of the night by way of a fall, Harsh Anchan earned a decision at 141 pounds to give the Ravens their first points of the dual. According to head coach Marcus Cobbs, Anchan and Gage Kassing met earlier in the season in a tightly-contested match that went in favor of the Vikings. Not this time around, Anchan was able to score late in the third period to earn a 6-5 decision.

The Ravens second win of the night didn’t come until 184 pounds. Tyson Albright was able to wear out Valley’s Tyler Crow and scored three points late in their match to earn a 5-2 decision.

Benedictine is not scheduled to return to the mat until Jan. 11 when they travel to Conway, Ark., for the CBC Mustang Mustang Invite hosted by Central Baptist College.
