OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women’s wrestling team will travel to York, Neb. on Wednesday to face York College and Central Christian College. In 2019, Ottawa defeated York College, 25-20.
Last Time Out for the Braves, Ottawa defeated Hastings College 16-4 and fell to Midland University, 45-5. In the Hastings dual, JoNiesha Kennedy, Lyric Gonsalves and Jythssel Mascorro all won their matches. In the Midland dual, Mascorro won by forfeit.
The latest NAIA Top 20 Poll was released and Ottawa is receiving votes. Alessia Cokeley is ranked 14th in the 109lb weight division and Abriel Lisk is 16th in the 155lb weight class.
Colby Crank is serving as the Interim Head Coach for the remaining of the 2021 season. For the 2020-21 season, Ottawa has six returners. The returners are Alessia Cokeley, Lyric Gonsalves, Samantha Kuilan, Jythssel Mascorro, Corinne Robertson, Randie Scoon. Ottawa has five newcomers for the upcoming season, Brittani Burgess, Hannah Dickinson, JoNeisha Kennedy, Derriane Morrison and Abriel Lisk.
