LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – University of Saint Mary men’s wrestling head coach Chuck Kearney has announced another addition to his 2021 recruiting class in Austin Almaguer.
Almaguer will compete in the 141 and 149 weight class for the Spires and hails from Kennewick, Wash. He has accumulated accolades such as the Junior National Champion, a two-time Junior National All-American, a two-time Washington State Champion and has placed at the Washington State meet four times.
“We are very excited about the addition of Austin to our program,” Kearney said. “He is a very good student as well as a great wrestler. In order for us to achieve at the level we are striving for we need to add D1 level wrestlers to our line-up. With Austin we feel we’ve done just that.”
