KANSAS CITY, Mo. –  The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced that Jace Fisher was named as this season’s first wrestler of week winner on Tuesday afternoon.

Fisher finished in first place at the Falcon Invite, being the only Jet to compete in the Men’s Elite bracket. Fisher went 4-0 through the course of the tournament and won every matchup via decision.

This is Fisher’s second wrestler of the week win, with his first coming last December.

“I’m excited to see that he has been able to pick up where he left off last year,” said head wrestling coach Ryan Smith. “The confidence is there and we will continue to build on that each time out.”

Fisher competed in the NCAA National Championships in Cedar Falls last March, and looks to return to the big stage at the end of the season.

The Jets will have their first home dual of the season on Wednesday, November 15th as the Jets will host Cowley County Community College. The dual is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
