MANHEIM, Pa. – Fort Hays State Men’s Wrestling ranked seventh on the NWCA Scholar All-America Team Top 20 list for the 2022-23 season. The Tigers as a team produced a cumulative grade point average of 3.307. Individual NWCA Scholar All-America honors went to Drew Burgoon, Tereus Henry, Cody Hicks, Blayze Standley, Mason Turner, and Corbin White.
The Tigers owned the best team GPA in Super Region 6. Henry, Hicks, and Turner are now three-time recipients of the honor individually, while the other three earned the honor for the first time as Tigers.
To earn this honor, individuals must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. The benchmark is 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships, and it is 3.0 for those who earned Division II All-America status on the mat. The athlete must also have competed in a minimum of four dates of competition.
