86 Jets Earn D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) announced it’s 2019-20 Academic Achievement Award Recipients yesterday, August 28th, 2020. Newman had the fourth highest award recipients out of all of the MIAA schools with 86 student-athletes earning a spot on the list. The top three MIAA schools were Central Missouri with 115 recipients, Fort Hays State with 100 recipients and Northwest Missouri State with 98 recipients. 

The Academic Achievement Award recognizes student-athletes at the Division II level that perform in the classroom. In total, there were 15,226 student-athletes from 200 institutions that were recognized for the 2019-20 Academic Achievement Awards, setting a new D2 ADA record for recipients. 

In order for a student-athlete to be eligible for the Academic Achievement Award, they must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work and must have been a member of an intercollegiate team in his/her last academic year.
