MARSHALL, Mo. – Doubling up on the road, the Baker men’s wrestling team traveled to Marshall, Mo., on Tuesday where they competed in duals against Grand View and Missouri Valley.

To start the day, the Wildcats took on the Vikings of Grand View. Baker struggled to get things going in the dual as Grand View went on to win, 40-3.

At 197 pounds, Brett Bober came away with a 6-0 decision over Grand View’s Andrew Hamilton to give Baker their only points of the dual.

After a two hour break, Baker then wrestled Missouri Valley. After a tech-fall loss at 125 pounds, Breyden Morrill was able to get a fall at 133 pounds in just 1:55 to give Baker the lead in the dual, 6-5.

Missouri Valley then won the next two matches, winning the first by fall and the second by decision to quickly regain the lead, 14-6. Joey Hancock then defeated his opponent in sudden victory, followed by a decision win by Justus Scott to cut the lead to 14-12.

After a major decision by Isaiah Luellen to give Baker a 16-14 lead. Once again Missouri Valley got the lead back, winning the 184-pound weight class, but Brett Bober picked up his second win of the day to give Baker a lead heading into the last match.

Missouri Valley was able to win the 285-pound match by a tough fought 3-2 decision as the Vikings went on to win the dual, 20-18.
