WICHITA – Newman Wrestling hosted their first home dual of 2024 and their first MIAA dual of the season against the Fort Hays State Tigers.

The Jets last competed in a dual at the beginning of December, and their first overall dual at home since November.

The Jets got off to a hot start in the dual, winning three of the first six matchups.

Collin Creach grabbed his first conference dual victory of the season, winning via major decision in a contest that Creach dominated in the third period.

Jevin Foust continued his strong season picking up a victory via a fall. Foust was in control from the get go, and made light work of his opponent. The victory gave the Jets a five point lead at the time of the fall.

Jace Fisher, who qualified for the Division II National Championship last year, picked up another quality win in the MIAA. Giving up only 3 points in the match, he had the most dominant performance out of anyone at the dual.

The Jets will have a quick turnaround, as they will take on nationally ranked Nebraska Kearney on Sunday, in dual that was postponed earlier this month. The dual begins at 3 PM on Sunday in Nebraska.
