Six Jets place at Roger Denker Open

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Newman Wrestling competed in their second tournament in as many weeks, as they headed to the Roger Denker Classic hosted by Central Missouri on Sunday. 

In what was the best outting of the tournament schedule thus far for the Jets, six wreslters placed in what was the most in almost two years. 

Dylan Sheler, coming off his second place finish at the Hastings Open, placed fifth in the 125 weight class. Sheler defeated an opponent from Power 5 Oklahoma and would wind up facing fellow Jet Kaven Bartlett in the fifth place contest. Bartlett placed in sixth following his outting at the tournament. 

Jevin Foust placed for the second time this season, finishing in fourth in the 141 division. 

Jace Fisher continued his streak of placing in tournaments, making it all the way to the first place match of the 165 bracket. 

Freshman Dane Donigian and Erik Tomanek both placed for the first time in their Newman careers, placing sixth and fifth respectively. 

The Jets will be at home for their next dual, hosting Fort Hays State for the Jets first home MIAA dual of the season.
